Dead Air: A 48 Hr Film Festival Submission
The second short film that I've worked on, with a more important role! Most of this was shot by myself, but I would have never been able to have the opportunity to shoot this without the help of the Face For Radio team. I learned so much from being given such a role in such a challenging project and I'm looking forward to the next chance to create something amazing!
Faith- ZeL ft. Diamond Nicole
My very first paid video shoot, we shot this in a day and the artist brought his entire family out to support him. This is where I think I learned more about myself and just showing up to shoot and going from there, and how powerful the action of Doing is. Almost as much as I learned from '17 Visions, but in a different vein.
'17 Visions- Chevaux
This video took ages to get done, mainly because of perfectionism and a lack of ideas on how to actually accomplish it. It only got done because we abandoned any sense of idea that this would be the absolute perfect music video, the magnum opus of the decade.
And then we shot it like a home movie and everyone thought it was amazing regardless of my apprehensions. This is what drove me to just go out and SHOOT. Because no matter how perfect you can make something, it won't be good if it never gets shot, and you'll easily be surpassed by 12 year olds with iPhones. Just shoot.
College of Business JMU
SoFar Sounds Harrisonburg
These are some of my early stage documentary-style videos that I did for my position as videographer for James Madison's College of business, as well as a fake trailer I and another videographer created for school. This is essentially where I came from and nearly my origin point, at the very least the earliest that I have that's published.
In all of these videos, I, along with a group of others, shot and edited these short, live music videos for SoFar Sounds while we were enrolled at JMU. This was a great time and an educational experience as far as producing work for a large client.
